2024 President’s Letter
Santa J. Ono
University of Michigan
In the nearly year and a half that I have served as president of the University of Michigan, my regard for our amazing institution has only heightened. Every day, I learn and experience more about our outstanding faculty, staff, and students, who are dedicated to making a profound impact on our world. And I know that their efforts are made possible by the generosity of donors like you.
Supporting our students remains a central priority, and making higher education possible for all qualified students, regardless of their means, is rooted in our tradition and mission as a public university. We are committed to providing access to a world-class education to our brightest and best students. Please give to ensure family finances are not a barrier to earning a Michigan degree.
U-M distinguishes itself in the realm of research and scholarship, addressing society’s most pressing challenges, discovering answers, and implementing innovative solutions. From addressing health care concerns and the climate emergency to firearms violence, injustice, and political tribalism, our researchers are improving our world with their curiosity, expertise, and insight. This vibrant community continues to innovate and thrive thanks to your support.
Additionally, as we recognize the role that creativity plays in learning and discovery, we celebrate U-M’s artistic and cultural assets. Our visual and performing arts offerings, our libraries, lectures, and other enriching resources illuminate and expand human connections, inspire collaborative creativity, and help build a more just and equitable world. Give today so these resources can flourish.
Michigan is such an exceptional place. Across our entire academic enterprise, programs are preparing tomorrow’s leaders. And we are united around a commitment to inclusion and excellence, integrity, discovery, and achievement. This great work could not be done without the extraordinary dedication of alumni and friends like you. Whether you give once per year or every month, your generosity continues U-M’s tradition of excellence.
Sincerely,
Santa J. Ono
President
P.S. Michigan is strongest when we all work together. There is truly no community I would rather be a part of as we take on the world’s most pressing challenges. Please join us in giving today.
