For more than 50 years, the Comprehensive Studies Program has helped University of Michigan students discover that they belong, can succeed, and have the potential to become leaders in their communities and professions. As we look toward our next 50 years, we are building on that legacy by creating new opportunities that prepare students not only to graduate from Michigan, but to thrive long after they leave campus. This year has been one of exciting growth and innovation. We celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Summer Bridge Scholars Program, expanded academic support for students, strengthened alumni engagement, and deepened partnerships across the university. At the same time, CSP has become the foundation of LSA’s First-Gen Pathways initiative, helping connect students with the academic, personal, and professional support they need from admission through graduation.

Looking ahead, our greatest opportunity is to invest in experiences that prepare students for life beyond the classroom. Gifts to the CSP Strategic Fund provide the flexibility to launch innovative programs as student needs evolve. Your support will help us expand the CSP Alumni Storytelling Initiative to preserve and share the remarkable journeys of our graduates, pilot a Career Discovery Experience that connects first-year students with employers and career exploration early in college, and launch an Operational Excellence (Lean) Study Tour that gives sophomore students hands-on experience solving real-world challenges alongside industry leaders. These transformational experiences help students build confidence, expand their professional networks, and discover new possibilities for their futures.
