A Message from Michigan Earth Leadership

Dear friends

Our Camp Davis renovations are becoming a reality! Alongside our goal to support this project, we highlight the continuing need to support students to attend camp. More than half of students who take a course at Camp Davis receive some level of support from the department. For some that looks like financial support and scholarships (40 percent), while for others it might look like access to our well-stocked gear library (70 percent) so they don’t have to purchase a tent, camping cookware, or sleeping bags. For students who may not receive direct aid, the lowering of student-oriented operational expenses at camp results in lower overall costs, which has a big impact on the bottom line for all students. 

The transformational effects of learning at Camp Davis are substantial and well-documented. We provide hands-on experiences that prepare students to succeed in our field. Such field camps are becoming increasingly rare, and we are fortunate to be able to sustain and prepare Camp Davis for a second century of student experience through both new construction and student support. Your contribution is critical to keeping Camp Davis as accessible and impactful as ever.
