The Global Career Launch, offered by the Global Engagement Team in the Office of the Provost, recently took place in London, UK and equipped students with the opportunity to navigate an interconnected world through building authentic relationships. Prior to traveling to London, students sharpened the stories of their journeys, values, and goals during interactive class sessions on campus, and applied their new skills during the international immersion in London (February 27–March 8, 2026). Students put these skills into practice through meetings and networking events with U‑M alumni and UK-based professionals while gaining cross-cultural perspectives on global networking norms. The program culminated in a U‑M Alumni Reception, hosted by the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan in partnership with the Office of University Development’s International Giving team. UK-based U‑M alumni, faculty, and staff all gathered to share stories, experiences, and learning moments with U‑M students and strengthen our community ties.
By the end, students left with a personal networking philosophy, greater confidence, and the kind of presence that helps them make memorable connections—and build a network that lasts.
