The Champions Fund has made a deep impact on the lives of student-athletes and the future of athletic programs at U‑M. The support has enabled the university to invest in their development as both athletes and individuals, guaranteeing they are equipped to succeed both on and off the field of play. U‑M is committed to fostering a culture of excellence, where student-athletes can thrive academically, athletically, and personally. Donor support is instrumental in making this vision a reality.
The fund supports nine enrichment areas: academic success, athletic medicine, career preparation, counseling, leadership development, performance nutrition, recruiting, strength and conditioning, and team travel. In FY24, $4,107,436 was given to the Champions Fund by 3,220 donors.
Funds go toward supporting:
- Mental health workshops, 1:1 counseling, group sessions
- Annual career venture trips, networking events
- Leadership and personal development workshops
- Community service opportunities
- Team meals and fueling stations
- Medical treatment and rehabilitation equipment
