On the 12th Giving Blueday, the University of Michigan community joined together to make an impact, raising $4.3M to support students, scholarships, research, special programs, student organizations, university initiatives, and more.

More than 11,800 donors across the country and around the world, including alumni, students, faculty, staff, retirees, and friends of the university, made gifts to all three campuses, Athletics, and Michigan Medicine.

During U‑M’s annual day of giving, which took place on March 18, supporters made gifts of all sizes to programs and causes that matter most to them.

“Giving Blueday was a great day for the Michigan community,” said Tom Baird, vice president for development. “Congratulations to all of the programs that participated, and my warm thanks to the thousands of Wolverines who stepped forward to support our students and our work.”

Supporters had the opportunity to amplify their impact by becoming a Giving Blueday Advocate and participating in matches and challenges throughout the day, such as Midnight Madness, Give and Tag 2, and many donor challenges.

This year, more than 130 student organizations received support, including Raise the Bar Challenge winner M-agination Films.

The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts received the most gifts through the Giving Blueday website, while the student organization that received the most gifts was MRacing Formula SAE.

Various student organizations and causes won giving challenges throughout the day, including Women’s Ultimate, University Library, and Wolverine Pathways, among others.
