The gentle plucking of a harp falls like rain upon listeners’ ears as they make their way through the Kelsey Museum’s galleries on a cold December evening. This sound—not unlike the mythological strumming of Apollo’s lyre—provides a backdrop for the Kelsey’s wintertime celebration, allowing members, staff, and students to slow down and take in the sight of artifacts on display: ancient sandals worn thin from use, reading stands once stacked high with papyri, and tiny dolls lovingly wound from cloth and hair. These objects not only provide insights into the daily lives of ancient people but also reveal threads of our shared humanity.
As the heart of the Kelsey Museum, members play a crucial role in animating our mission for students, community visitors, and scholars. Members support the dual goals of safeguarding and enlivening our artifacts through conservation efforts, innovative research, compelling exhibitions, and dynamic programs. In return—and in thanks—we are pleased to offer a range of benefits, from member-only events to insider access to our dynamic archaeological work to free admission to more than 1,000 museums and cultural institutions across the continent through the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association and Reciprocal Organization of Associated Museums (ROAM) networks.
A Kelsey Museum membership provides a gateway to cultural heritage, community, and camaraderie, allowing archaeology-lovers everywhere to deepen their engagement with the arts, history, and the ancient world.
