Mr. Bud and Mrs. Bud and Mrs. Koop Camp Summer Fun Scholarship ‑ 571833

Honor Bud and Marian Prottengeier, Flint residents dedicated to supporting summer enrichment for underserved children.

Established in 2007 by Maurice “Bud” and Marian Prottengeier, with guidance from their daughter Jan Koop, the Mr. Bud and Mrs. Bud and Mrs. Koop Camp Summer Fun Scholarship provides summer camp experiences for youth living in under-resourced communities. Bud Prottengeier had volunteered countless hours reading to the students at Carpenter Road and South Bendle Elementary schools. As a result, these students began to refer to him as “Mr. Bud" affectionately. This fund was established to ensure that students like those to whom Bud had read for so many years will always have the opportunity to enjoy a summer camp experience at the UM-Flint campus.
