The memory loss caused by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias is devastating for those diagnosed and their loved ones. While we know more about these conditions today, there is much more we can do to improve the lives of those suffering.

At the Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Center, we are revolutionizing treatments for Alzheimer’s disease and dementias through innovative research and a shared commitment to improving lives. With three National Institutes of Health-funded centers in Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and aging research at U‑M, we are making great strides by:

  • Identifying routes for potential therapies
  • Defining biomarkers for early detection and better treatment
  • Promoting state-of-the-art care and wellness for those affected by memory loss
  • Increasing dementia awareness through collaborative education and outreach efforts
  • Addressing racial and ethnic disparities in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias
  • Providing training and support to the next generation of clinicians and scientists
