Welcome! Congratulations on your student’s decision to attend the University of Michigan. We are excited to welcome you to the Michigan family!

Parent & Family Leadership Council

We’d like to invite you to be part of our Parent & Family Leadership Council and share how joining this community of parents will make the entire Michigan experience a more meaningful and connected one for your family.
Parent & Family Leadership Council members are a dedicated group who make generous philanthropic commitments, providing support for the University, and enriching the overall Michigan student education. Major gifts can be designated to whatever program or area is the most important to you. Philanthropy is a great part of the tradition here at Michigan, and parents are an important part of that tradition.
Parent & Family Leadership Council members enjoy a personal connection point and a variety of complimentary services from our office, especially during football season and for commencement. Council members are invited to campus twice a year, including Parents’ Weekend to give them an insider’s perspective from University leaders, faculty, and students. Council meetings and events along with networking with other parents creates an opportunity to connect at a higher level, be involved, know what is happening on campus, enjoy a sense of community, and have a personal connection point. Council members serve as volunteers and ambassadors often hosting events for the university in their communities to welcome incoming students and parents to the Michigan family.
The Council is designed for incoming parents to help provide information and connection points when it is most needed. To join the Council, members sign a one page, non-binding letter of intent so that parents can make sure Michigan is the right fit before including the university in their philanthropy. In addition, we want parents to take the time to explore and know the university so that they can decide on an area of support that makes the impact they want to see in the world.
We hope to have the opportunity to more closely connect you to Michigan as part of our Parent & Family Leadership Council and help make a large university a little smaller for your family.
We have seen firsthand the incredible impact the University of Michigan has had on our own son – and are so happy to play a part in helping others be a part of the Wolverine community.

Parent Partners

We also benefit from the generous support provided by members of the Parent Partners group. Parent Partners make gifts pledged over their student’s four-year undergraduate career, and these gifts may also be directed to support any area of the University the donors choose.
Parent Partners enjoy invitations to University events in their home areas, our monthly e-newsletter, priority access to purchase football tickets for Parents’ Weekend, priority access for additional Commencement tickets, and a membership lapel pin to wear with pride and show their support of their student and the University of Michigan.
